Just for context, I’m Nigerian, so I do like my heat to a considerable amount. That being said, adjust accordingly. Also, I’m well aware some ingredients might not be accessible to all, so feel free to adjust : ) Enjoy…
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons suya spice
- Habanero pepper( as much heat you can handle)/ dried Cameroon pepper
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or any of your choice
- Salt and pepper to taste/ seasoning cubes
- Kuli kuli( groundnut/ peanut cake). Or better still, measure ingredients according to your ancestors
Instructions
- Preparation of Marinade:
- In a large bowl, combine the paprika, suya spice, minced garlic, olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
- Add the chopped onions and habanero mixing well.
- Marinate Chicken Wings:
- Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring each wing is well coated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).
- Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the Chicken Wings:
- Place the marinated chicken wings on the grill.
- Grill for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the wings are cooked through and have a nice char.
- Serving:
- Serve the grilled chicken wings hot, garnished with lime wedges and additional sliced peppers if desired. I used micro greens and cabbage for mine.
Enjoy your flavourful grilled chicken suya wings!
